Michael Cheika's Men to Take on Queensland
Jake Trbojevic to Captain the Blues
The New South Wales Blues have confirmed their team for the opening game of the 2024 State of Origin series against Queensland. Sea Eagles forward Jake Trbojevic will lead the team as captain, while Michael Cheika will coach the side for the first time.
The team features a number of new faces, including Tyson Frizell, who will make his first Origin appearance since 2020. Wests Tigers captain Apisai Koroisau has also been named at hooker, ahead of Damien Cook and Cameron McInnes.
The Blues will be looking to avenge their 2-1 series defeat to Queensland last year. They will also be hoping to start the series on a winning note, as they have not won the opening game of the series since 2018.
