City of Chesapeake Announces Traffic Changes Ahead of Luke Bryan Concert
Event to Take Place at Chartway Arena on Saturday, October 29th
Road Closures and Detours Planned
The City of Chesapeake has announced that several traffic changes will be in effect ahead of the Luke Bryan concert at Chartway Arena on Saturday, October 29th. The concert is expected to draw a large crowd, and the following traffic changes are being implemented to ensure the safety of attendees and minimize traffic congestion.
Starting at 4:00 PM, the following roads will be closed to traffic:
- Greenbrier Parkway between Volvo Parkway and Mount Pleasant Road
- Mount Pleasant Road between Greenbrier Parkway and Kempsville Road
- Kempsville Road between Mount Pleasant Road and Cedar Road
Detours will be in place to direct traffic around the closed roads. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel and to follow the posted detours.
In addition to the road closures, the following parking restrictions will be in effect:
- No parking on Greenbrier Parkway between Volvo Parkway and Mount Pleasant Road
- No parking on Mount Pleasant Road between Greenbrier Parkway and Kempsville Road
- No parking on Kempsville Road between Mount Pleasant Road and Cedar Road
Violators of the parking restrictions will be ticketed and towed.
The City of Chesapeake encourages concert attendees to use public transportation or ride-sharing services to avoid traffic congestion. The Chesapeake City Bus System will be operating a shuttle service from the Greenbrier Mall to Chartway Arena.
