Hilary Erhard Duff was born on September 28, 1987, in Houston, Texas, to Susan Duff (née Cobb) and Robert Erhard Duff. From an early age, she showed a talent for singing and acting, appearing in local theater productions and singing competitions. In 1998, she made her breakthrough role as the titular character in the Disney Channel original series "Lizzie McGuire."
