Wolves Advance to Western Conference Finals
The Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off a stunning upset on Sunday, defeating the reigning champion Denver Nuggets 98-90 in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals. The victory sends the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004.
The Nuggets, who had home-court advantage, led by 11 points in the third quarter. However, the Timberwolves rallied back, outscoring the Nuggets 33-18 in the fourth quarter to steal the win.
Anthony Edwards led the way for the Timberwolves, scoring 27 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns added 22 points and 12 rebounds, while D'Angelo Russell scored 21 points.
Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jamal Murray added 18 points, while Michael Porter Jr. scored 15 points.
The Timberwolves will now face the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals, which begin on Tuesday.
